Many of us don't really know what it means to "stand on the Word of God."  We're like the little boy who put his Bible on the floor and stood on top of it!  But standing on  the Word of God will bring results to your prayer life and your faith WILL work for you!  To stand means to maintain your position; not to be moved or to change course; to remain firm.  We must learn to stand firmly on what the Bible says, and not give in to our thoughts, feelings and emotions.  The Bible says, "Stand fast in the faith, . . .Be strong." (1 Corinthians 16:13).

Take our health for example.  God tells us in the Word, "The Lord will keep you free from every disease." (Deuteronomy 7:15)  We say we believe what the Word of God says, and yet when we get the sniffles, the first words out of our mouth are, "I'm catching a cold!"  We show by our words that we really do not believe God!  If we do not stand on the promise that "God will keep me free from every disease" (or other promises), Satan will knock us down with a full blown cold!  "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour." ( 1 Peter 5:8)  A better way to handle the situation would be to say, "Oh, no Satan!  You are a liar!  The Bible says, "No weapon formed against thee shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17), and "God will keep me free from every [sickness] and disease."   Then you can watch him run off!  You need to persist in standing on the Word as long as he persists in his attack!  After a while he will see you mean business and he will leave!  But watch out!  He'll be back at some point in time to challenge you again!

This will work in every situation you face.  Get familiar with some verses in scripture that promise healing, deliverance and prosperity.  God has an answer for every problem that we encounter.  There is power in the Word of God.  Faith in the Word of God WILL bring you results!  Believe what you say and don't be afraid to say it. Learn to stand firmly on the Word of God.  A few weeks ago the Lord spoke these words to me, "It is the act of believing that produces that which you are believing for.  Believing is an act of the will. Will you believe?"  We have a choice to believe the Word of God or not.  Believe and stand firm on the Word of God and you will see victory in your life!

God bless you as you grow in grace and the knowledge of his word!
