These end days we live in are increasingly wicked and many have turned from God.  Even though evil and wickedness may surround you, it is still possible to live in obedience to God.  The key is to separate yourself from the ungodly.  2nd Corinthians 6:14 (NIV) says, “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. . .”  I especially like Psalm 1 (NIV) “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.  He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers.  Not so the wicked!  They are like chaff that the wind blows away.    Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment [of God], nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.   For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” Even though it may be difficult to stand for Christ, it is possible!  1st Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.  And God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”  When you are tempted to sin, resist it!  You don’t have to give in!  As you continue to resist, the devil must leave you alone! “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 Use the name of Jesus!  There is power in His name to resist and defeat Satan! As you continue to resist the impulse to give in to sin and temptation, you will become stronger and see yourself victorious over him!
