Military  commanders know how to wage warfare against their enemy.  They teach the troops how to fight, what weapons to use, and most of all, they teach them not to be afraid of the enemy.  As Christians, we also have an enemy and it is important to know how to fight him.

1st Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith,

I.  Know your enemy.

It is important to recognize when Satan is attacking.  This is first and foremost in your warfare.  Pray and ask the Lord for discernment so you can recognize his attacks.  Many of your thoughts are not your own; Satan plants them for you to take and then leads you down a path of destruction.  He always wants to make evil look desirable, like Eve in the Garden of Eden, only we don't actually see the serpent.

II.  Resist at the first sign of attack.

At the first sign of attack, many Christians just lie down and let the enemy trample them.  This is because they don't know their authority over Satan and they don't know how to fight.  We must stand up to him, use our authority to tell him "NO" and continue to resist him until he leaves us alone. "James 4:7 "Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

III.  Don't be afraid.

The enemy uses fear to gain access to us and bring defeat to our lives.  Resist the spirit of fear.  It has to go.  If Jesus said "Fear not." many times in the Bible (and He did), then we have the ability to not be afraid!  2nd Timothy 1:7  "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

IV.  The victory is yours!

You are guaranteed the victory! Jesus has already obtained it for you through Christ. Keep fighting until you win!                                                "1st Corinthians 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Then we can say like Paul,  "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"
