FAITH AND DOUBT

Do you want to get answers to your prayers and see faith working in your life?  Let's examine how faith works for us and doubt works against us to keep us from receiving from God.

FAITH: What we believe, or trust in; being certain of

DOUBT:  What we do not believe, or a lack of certainty about

WAVER:  To go back and forth

Hebrews 10:38  "The just shall live by faith."

To believe and to have faith are the same.  When we believe God and his word, we have faith in God and his word.  In order to receive from God by faith we must believe in his word and what it says.  We doubt when we do not believe God's word and what it is saying.

For example, suppose you are praying for finances.  The Bible says in Philippians 4:19; "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."  In order for your faith to work and your prayer to be answered you must believe that God meant what he said.  And he said he would supply ALL of our need.  Not just some, ALL.

BELIEVE WHEN YOU PRAY

When we believe, it's time to pray. If you pray without believing your prayer will not be answered.  Mark 11:24;  "What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe. . ."  This tells us our believing is done when we pray. We believe God's promise to supply all of our needs at the time of our prayer. We do not wait to believe when we see the need met.  This is where a lot of people are missing it.  They "think" they are believing, but continuing to worry about the situation is evidence that they don't believe.  In fact, they are doubting that their prayer will be answered!

DO NOT WAVER

To waver is to go back and forth.  If you go back and forth between believing and doubting, you are wavering.  This is what the Bible says about wavering:  "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

James 1:6-8.

We must keep our minds fixed on believing what the word of God says, not on our circumstances. This is the way to victory.  We throw out every thought that does not agree with God's word, and replace those thoughts with his word and declarations of victory. I would say something like this, " My God  SHALL supply ALL of my needs!  God's word say's it, and I believe it!  ALL of my needs are met.  I don't know exactly when, or how but that is not my part of the problem.  My part is to believe.  It's God's part to supply and He is able and willing!

This works in every area of life.  If the Bible says it, we can believe it.  If we can believe it, nothing is impossible to us.  So get your faith to work, kick out doubt and refuse to waver and you WILL have victory in your life!

Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible."
