Twenty four hours in a day. That’s all we have.  And yet these days many of us find that it’s not enough time to get everything done that we need to.  That can lead to a feeling of being overwhelmed and cause us to be under a great amount of stress.  Recently, I found myself in this condition.  I had a lot to do in one week and every time I thought about all I had to do, I found the stress coming upon me.  It crept up on me like a pressure around the back of my neck moving down my back.  I developed an anxious attitude rushing around to accomplish those things I needed to and I had no peace.  But suddenly, the Lord reminded me of a scripture, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.  I immediately asked God’s forgiveness for allowing myself to get stressed out, and asked Him to help me get everything done [Present your requests to God].  I thanked Him [with thanksgiving] and said, “I refuse to be under stress [Be not anxious]”.  Then the peace of God settled on me and I went ahead and finished all the tasks I needed to. [And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds].

Follow these guidelines for a stress free life:

Ask for God’s help and believe that He will help you.

Thank God because you know He heard you and will help you.

Refuse to be anxious and worried.

Receive the peace which only God can give!
